Freshening up: LifeHouse Fall Cleanup 2018
By Joel Yelverton
What an incredible and productive Fall Clean Up Day! Maybe it’s just me but they seem to keep getting better and better! Co-chairman and fellow board member Kevin Upchurch and I always look forward to hosting a crew of volunteers who show up willing and ready to work. This day was no exception. We want to particularly thank Kevin Boutwell who came a week earlier and both measured LifeHouse for sod and sourced it for us. Then he along with his family and the Pinelake second Saturday group came and laid it like pros! It made a huge difference to the curb appeal of LifeHouse, and we are so appreciative.
Thanks also to an incredible team of students from Belhaven University and Hartfield Academy. When we see young people walk through the door on a Saturday morning, it excites and motivates us. They cleaned the porch from top to bottom, and we think had a pretty good time doing it! And then there was Regina with Heavenly Sweetz and her niece Dominique who made the kitchen and all the floors shine! It is all so gratifying to watch it unfold.
And of course—our fellow board members, our families and our Friends of LifeHouse are always willing to pitch in no matter what we are up to at LifeHouse. Serving alongside all of these amazing folks is the best.
Until next time!
